Acai

Our organic Açaí is wild harvested, hand-picked straight from the Acai Palm, Euterpe oleracea, from the Amazon by the Ribeirinhos (The River People living by the Amazon).

The Açaí Palm, Euterpe oleracea, from the Palm family, grows up to 25m in height. The average mature palm tree has 4-8 well-developed stems from a single seed and root system.

Unknown to most people, there's 2 reasons why you never see Acai berries out of the Amazon. Firstly, despite Açaí's wonders, it is a highly perishable fruit that starts perishing after 24 hours and fully fermented and dried up within days.

Second reason is that Acai is more like a stone fruit than a berry where inside lies a big seed. We are only consuming the skin which is so rich in antioxidant, nutrients and the layer of essential fatty acids underneath the skin. The skin is pretty hard and inedible as it is so the only way to consume it is to turn it into pulp.
